Earmark Support

Tap + in Library (or Folders > Add Folder…), browse to the folder that holds your books, and tap Open. Earmark indexes it in place; nothing is copied. You can also move files into On My iPhone > Earmark in the Files app.

Yes. In the folder picker choose On My iPhone > BookPlayer (or that app's folder). Earmark reads the same files where they are, so both apps keep working and nothing is duplicated.

A folder of audio files is one book (each file a chapter), every .m4b is its own book with its embedded chapters, Disc 1/Disc 2 folders merge into their parent, and Author/Series/Book folder names or tags fill in author, series, and order.

Folders > Add NAS… Enter the host or IP, the share name, the folder inside the share that holds your books, and your login. iOS will ask for Local Network permission once. Books then appear with a Remote badge and stream while you are on that network.

Open a remote book and tap Download to iPhone, or open the NAS under Folders and tap Sync from NAS to fetch everything that is not on the phone yet. Downloaded copies take over and your listening position carries across.

Make sure the phone is on the same network (or VPN) as the server, and that the login has read access to the share. Tap play again once connected.

Folders > Find Duplicates. Earmark compares file contents, so copies with different names are found too. Nothing is deleted unless you confirm it.

Playback controls, artwork, and skip buttons work from the car's Now Playing screen. The dedicated CarPlay app view is waiting on Apple's CarPlay entitlement and will appear in a later update.

MP3, M4A/M4B/AAC, WAV, AIFF, CAF, and FLAC. iOS cannot decode OGG, Opus, or WMA; Earmark lists those files under the folder so you know why they are missing.
